BUSARA CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS

The Busara Center for Behavioral Economics is an advisory and research organization focused on advancing and applying behavioral science in pursuit of poverty alleviation across Africa, Asia and Latin America, with active operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Uganda and India. We work with organizations to understand individual and social behavior among customers and end-users, and to build behaviorally-informed solutions to help scale products, programs and policies. Our methods have been applied across projects in financial inclusion, education, agriculture, health, policy and governance.

IAVI

IAVI is a nonprofit scientific research organization that develops vaccines and antibodies for HIV, tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases (including COVID-19), and neglected diseases such as snakebite. Our mission is to translate scientific discoveries into affordable, globally accessible public health solutions.

KENYA AIDS VACCINE INITIATIVE-INSTITUTE OF CLINICAL RESEARCH

The Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative (KAVI) was established in 1998 as a research unit within the Department of Medical Microbiology, College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, through a collaboration agreement between the University of Nairobi, University of Oxford, and IAVI, with the aim of conducting HIV vaccine clinical trials and basic science. KAVI-ICR‘s mission is to discover, apply, and disseminate knowledge through creative and innovative health research.

LONDON SCHOOL SCHOOL OF HYGEINE & TROPICAL MEDICINE

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a world-leading centre for research, postgraduate studies and continuing education in public and global health. LSHTM has a strong international presence with over 3,500 staff and 5,000 students working in the UK and countries around the world, and an annual research income of £180 million. LSHTM is one of the highest-rated research institutions in the UK, has two MRC Units in The Gambia and Uganda, and was named University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards 2016. MEDICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL/UGANDA VIRUS RESEARCH INSTITUTE & LSHTM UGANDA RESEARCH UNIT ON AIDS

The Medical Research Council/Uganda Virus Research Institute & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit on AIDS (MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence. Their mission is three-fold: to conduct research to add knowledge and improve the control of infectious and non-communicable diseases in Uganda, in Africa and globally; to contribute to the translation of research findings into policy and practice; and to build capacity for research in Africa.
